October Festivities

These pictures aren't in order but we have done lots of fun things in October. Grandma and Grandpa came out to help us with Easton, we went to the pumpkin patch and got pumpkins, went and saw Paul and Kristen and Grandma and grandpa Duncan and Brady, carved our pumpkins and then went trick-or-treating yesterday. We were dressed as the Flintstones and I have to brag...I made all the costumes. They aren't the greatest but I am proud of myself. It was really fun and now we are looking forward to heading the Utah for a few months to be with family while Clint is busy interviewing for residency.

Correction

This is what I get for having Clint do the blog. Easton was 7 lbs.9 oz.. NOT 8 lbs. 9 oz. There is a big difference there. I will update with moe pictures, but right now Easton needs me...if you know what I mean!!! We love him and he is so good. Emmi is such a good older sister too. We love our beautiful children.

Baby Easton!

Baby Easton was born yesterday at 12:03 PM. Everything went well. He was 8 lbs 8 ounces and was 20 inches tall. Easton and Jordan are doing well. Emmi always say "eten" now. Jordan did very well and is the most beautiful mom in the world. We think that Easton is a cutie. I think he looked a little bit like a grandpa, but a cute grandpa. Here are a few photos of Easton, Emmi and us.

My Two Year Old

Emmi has been in the "terrible two" stage lately. Everything is "no" and she doesn't want me to help her do ANYTHING. That includes putting her in her highchair, getting her dressed, putting on her shoes and changing her diaper. And if I try to help her she throws a tantrum for about 15 minutes. It is AWESOME!!! She is miss independent. By the end of the day I want to pull my hair out. Good thing Clint is finishing up his Neurology rotation and getting into his really easy/vacation months. Hopefully Emmi will be okay when the baby comes...(I'm crossing my fingers and toes.)

But even with all of that she does some very cute things. She is still a little snuggler...with me... and she LOVES taking care of her dolls. She dresses them, feeds them, sings and rocks them, and puts them to bed. It is SO cute. She also loves dressing herself. For example today she took off her pjs and put on a different pair. 5 minutes later she decided that she didn't want to wear those anymore so she put on her swimming suit with her underwear over it. Then she thought "why put on one swimming suit??? I have 3 of them." So she put on all of her swimming suits and her little cover up. She wore that for about 30 minutes and then decided that she wanted to get dressed for "real". The picture below is the outfit she FINALLY decided on. I tried to get her to change into different shorts that would match but quickly decided that it doesn't matter. The shirt is also a size 6-12 months ( don't ask me why I still have it in the drawer) but she LOVES it. She was so excited when I told her she could wear the shirt that she started clapping and saying "yeah" and had the biggest smile on her face. How can you say no to that? I love my little Ems.

Don't you just want to eat her?
Nice outfit huh??

Emmi Update

Here is a little update on Emmi. She has been growing up so fast and doing such funny things I thought that maybe I should post some of them. We just got her a new toddler bed to sleep in and she has been doing GREAT. She has no idea that she can get out. When she wakes up she just calls out to me or Clint until we come and get her. It is so nice. And every morning when she wakes up she points to the crib and says "Eaton" (we told her that is baby Easton's new bed) and then she points to her bed and says "Emmi".

She loves to talk to Easton. She will get really close to my tummy and say "Hi Babya" and then give it kisses. It is so cute. She also goes to every Dr. appointment with me and she loves hearing Easton's heartbeat. She just got a DR. kit to play with and loves listening to everyone's heartbeat.

She still isn't very good at talking yet. We have an appointment in Oct. with the speech therapist so hopefully that will help her out. She can say all of her words and she repeats everything you say, but she won't put the words together in a sentence. She has also mastered her colors and we are working on counting and the alphabet. She is really good at both of them and is starting to recognize some letters.

When we have been doing Family Night we have been talking about things that we can do that make Jesus happy because she is in the stage right now where everything is "No" or if I don't look at you while you are talking I can't hear you. So I put her on time out the other day and when I got her off I asked if Jesus was sad. So now everytime I ask her to be happy or to help she asks "Jesus?" meaning is this making Jesus happy? It is really cute. She also loves to pray. She uses her sweet, quiet voice and loves to pray with her animals.

She also loves outside, riding her new bike, her sunglasses, putting on my makeup, coloring, reading books, singing, pretending bunny is a baby and she wraps it up in a blanket and rocks it to sleep, loves putting on her backpack and going to work like dad, being thrown up in the sky by Clint, nursery, playing with her friends Livy and Kate, doing puzzles, and her newest thing is chewing gum.

We love our sweet little Emmi and think that she is the cutest thing ever. We wish we lived closer to everyone so they could see how cute she is. But I guess I will just have to be better at blogging so you can be updated.

Grandma's Visit

This past week my mom came and visited us. It was SO much fun. I always love when she comes out because A: it is so much fun to have visitors, B: I miss my momma, C: she spoils us like CRAZY!!!, and D: Emmi had so much fun with Grandma.

So while she was here we went to Gettysburg, we went to Baltimore and to the Inner Harbor which also included the National Aquarium, paddle boat rides, the Cheesecake Factory, and the Lexington Market. We also went out to eat a lot...Panera...yummy, and we went shopping for baby "Slam". It was so much fun having her here and I miss her already. But I guess I get to look forward to the next time she comes. Little baby Easton will be just a few days old and get this.....My Dad will be coming too!!!! Yahoo! And any other visitors that want to come are more than welcome.

It's a ????

We went to the doctor today to find out what we are having and it turns out it is a...?? Well before I tell you, Clint and I had made a bet. I for sure thought it was a boy and Clint was 100% positive it was a girl. So Sunday we made a bet that if it is a boy I get to name him and if it was a girl Clint got to name her. So anyways we thought we would start writing down names. If it is a boy we both really like Easton, Jackson, Jack or Thunder. I love Easton the most but I still really like the other ones. Girl names were a little harder for us. Clint started coming up with names like Sugar, Candy, Cookie, Rainbow and Starburst. We can't decide on any of those so we will have to wait until later to narrow it down. (By the way Thunder is a joke name...I wouldn't do that to my kid.) So we were really excited going into the doctor just so we could know who won the bet. And the winner is...??? Oh I forgot. It is Clint's birthday today so it was a great birthday present for him and he was so excited. What a fun thing to get on your birthday. I love Clint more than anything and he is the best Hubby, daddy and student. He works so hard to make sure Emmi and I are taken care of. I am so glad to have him in my life and I love him more than anything. Happy Birthday Clint!!!! We love you.

Okay...I think I have stalled long enough. We are having a...

Beautiful baby...

What was I thinking???

Emmi has been curious about the toilet lately and is always getting undressed and trying to change her diaper by herself so we thought we would buy her a little toilet for her and try to potty train her. The minute we got home from the store we opened the potty and she wanted to try it right away. So all afternoon Saturday she was naked and sitting on her toilet. The problem is she thinks it is a toy and not something you don't play with. As you can see in the picture she thinks the toilet is a hat and the seat is a purse. Don't worry...she hadn't used it yet. She also doesn't like sitting on it all the way so when she does end up going it isn't in the toilet but on the floor. We were very proud of her though. She did end up going a few hours after we bought it and she was SO excited. She kept clapping and saying "yeah". But now it is a nightmare. She doesn't want to sit on it but doesn't want to put her diaper back on either. What was I thinking? This is going to be such a hassle. Daddy...when I come out there will you potty train her?!?

Sean's Visit

Emmi at the Lollipop Shoppe in Amish Country
Our Amish Buggy and the horse "Geronimo"
At the Warold War II fountain
In the water in DC

We were so excited to have Sean here with us last week. We had such a good time. It is always so nice to have visitors. It was extra special to have him out here a couple weeks before he leaves on his mission. We did lots of fun things. He came on Tuesday and had come by train from Boston. He was in Boston watching my parents run the marathon and then he took Amtrak to our house. We were able to do lots of fun things including:
-going to Chocolate World...anyone that comes to visit us will go there.
-went to Gettysburg and saw all the battle sites. It was cold so we spent a lot of time in the car.
- went to Amish Country and rode on an Amich Buggy ride around an Amish Community. Emmi loved the horse.
-went shopping at the outlets...that one was for me and Sean was a trooper.
-went to the DC temple and did a session together. It was an awesome experience to just have me and Sean together in the temple while Clint stayed outside with Emmi.
-went to downtown DC and explored the National Mall. It was so HOT outside that Emmi and I spent most of our time at the fountains. Emmi also decided that she wanted to run away from me which ended with her face down in the World War II Momnument fountains. She was so excited to be in the water. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. She is such a little stinker.
So all in all we had a great week. It was so nice having Sean here and can't wait to come home in a week to see everyone else!!!

Easter Egg Hunt #1

Hershey LOVES Easter. We celebrate Easter here for about 2-3 weeks. There are 3-4 egg hunts to go to and then Hershey Park opens for the springtime. We had our first egg hunt on Saturday at a local park. They just throw tons of eggs on the ground and let the kids go crazy. It was really fun and Emmi understood it this year, but it was FREEZING. It had been warm and sunny all week and then the day that we had to go outside it was so windy and cold. But I don't think any of the kids noticed. They just loved getting all the candy. So here are a few pictures of Emmi getting her eggs. I will be posting again soon with more Easter festivities!!

She got a little distracted with all the kids but still had fun.

Bucket Anyone?

I am officially into my 2nd trimester of my pregnancy and thought I would finally post the great news. If you haven't figured it out yet I am PREGNANT!!!! We are so excited to be expanding our family and Emmi is excited to be a big sister, but I do have to say that I am hating life right now. The first trimester of pregnancy STINKS. I have been so sick. Thank heavens for good drugs. I feel like a D- mom because all I do is lay on the couch all day, throw up, and let Emmi do anything/get into anything she wants. I thought I was feeling better these past couple of days but alas....nighttime came and I had to visit my good friend the toilet once again. But after all that complaining I feel SO blessed to even be pregnant. We have a really hard time getting pregnant and I couldn't imagine not being able to. Thanks to the help of a great Fertility Specialist, prayers, and lots of blessings our little addition will be joining us October 1st. HOORAY!!!! I do have three ultrasounds but I won't post them because they were taken at 5, 6 and 8 weeks. So all you can really see is a blob. Emmi does love carrying the ultrasounds around saying "bebe". She is so sweet!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMI

Emmi turned 2 years old yesterday. I can't believe I have a 2 year old. We didn't do a lot because she had no clue what was going on and because Clint has been so busy with this Medicine rotation. So we went and got balloons in the morning and she LOVED doing that. She didn't let them go the rest of the day. We also had our friends come over to have some birthday cake with us. So all in all it was a quiet, uneventful day. We did go to the doctor for her 2 year check up and she weighs 23 lbs. and is 31 in. tall. She is in the 10th percentile with her weight, 5th percentile in her height, and her head is in the 40th percentile. She is just a petite little girl. Other than that nothing else has really happened. Sorry it has been so long since I last posted a blog. Don't count on too many in the future either. I would love to keep it updated but I'm really bot good at keeping my blogging word.

Birthday Cake!! She only ate the frosting off the top.
